Keep experimenting with microphone placement and setup (X/Y, ORTF, spaced pair, etc.) I personally like to use ORTF using a stereo bar where both mics are on the same mic stand, less issues with frequency masking and phasing plus a wider stereo image than X/Y. Record snippets of compositions that utilize a good portion of the fretboard, then do comparisons with the recordings. My 2 cents😀
Good idea! I've always been doing mid-side recording because that was the safest and easiest for me, but I want to learn how to record a good sound with spaced pair. But there we have a higher chance of phase issues. I'll share the results as soon as I have something decent sounding :D
