Hey Friends,
I've got a lot going on in the background: working on the new season of the podcast, recently restarted the live streams (check the schedule here), I’m working on new repertoire, and I've also got some new video ideas in mind that I'm keen to work on, especially ones that will teach you something new about classical music or guitar technique - after all, that's why I became a guitar teacher. 😀
I recently made a poll asking what type of videos you would like to see on my channel (and I'm very thankful for every single response). The result was really enlightening, as most of you are looking for videos that are more about classical guitar technique and help you improve your own playing.
On the other hand, I often get questions about technical topics such as how to learn the tremolo, what to do if you have trouble learning a piece, how to learn bar chords, etc. I already have videos on these and many other useful topics that I would like to help you with. So I thought I'd put together my playlists for these in this newsletter to make it easier to deliver these learning materials to you. These are just a few examples, but I think it might be a useful collection for you in the future.
Classical Guitar Techniques - From Basics to Advanced
This is my most comprehensive playlist, summarizing everything you need to know about classical guitar from beginner to advanced level. But if you feel like you already know everything about it, you can still test yourself with the videos. 😊 Full list here
Tips For Beginners
I've put together this list of tips and tricks specifically for beginners to help you progress if you're new to the instrument. This is a similar list to the previous one, excluding the more advanced techniques and topics. For example, you'll find simple exercises (separate for the right and left hand), a summary of the most common mistakes to make, and classical pieces you should learn. Full list here
Learn Tremolo - The Most Unique (and One of the Most Difficult) Picking Techniques
Many of my students struggle to learn tremolo, which I totally understand because it's not the easiest technique in the world for sure, but when they get the hang of it, it's a pleasure to see the confidence on their faces. 😄 That's why I've put together a course of 6 videos to help you develop one of the most unique and beautiful picking techniques in the world. Trust me, you can do it. Full list here
Book Your Own Lesson
However, if you feel that you need more customized instructions in addition to YouTube videos and would like guidance on how to improve your classical guitar playing, I now have a few slots for personalized online lessons. I'm happy to help you develop a practice plan and give you feedback on your progress.
Music To Inspire
This last playlist is less of an educational one, but I thought it might be worth sharing. This is where you can find all the music that I uploaded on YouTube. Maybe you can use it as an inspiration to find new pieces to learn 🙂 For the full playlist click here
My Favorite Things From Last Week
Last week, I recorded a new podcast episode with the amazing Yvette Young! She is such a big inspiration, so I wanted to share a short clip of her music with you today. Stay tuned for the podcast episodes, the first one of the new season is coming out this Friday!
You know that I’m always on the lookout for new pieces for my students and for my viewers, and this is how I found this piece. It is super lovely and quite easy. If you want something new, give it a go! 🙂
I hope you find this quick collection helpful, feel free to hit the reply button or leave a comment if you have feedback about any of the videos.
Wish you a nice week!
