It starts! - Welcome to my newsletter!
Hello friends, I have finally decided to start a newsletter where I can keep you updated about my work and news happening in the BeatrixGuitar universe in just one place!
You will get notified about new videos, music releases, shop and community updates, booklets, etc. I also want to have this place as a more direct way to talk to you, to share the things I learn, and I think would be helpful and useful for you guys as well. I will break everything down into sections, so it will be easy to see through. 🙂 The idea is to keep you updated about the most important things without the pressure of watching Instagram, Twitch, YouTube, and Discord all the time. I know how it can get overwhelming! This should be a place to relax and slow down for a bit, so grab a coffee and have a calm 15 minute reading!
PS: I put some of you on this list becuase you have supprted my work when I needed the most, and that’s why I thought you’d be interested reading these. If you don’t want to see these snippets, it’s okay to unsubscribe. You can find the button at the end of the email, feel no pressure, and you can stay as long as you want.
YouTube Videos
My latest video was the beautiful Zomerliefde, meaning Summer Love. It was written by Henk Elderson in 2023. This project was the perfect end for 2023 I think, even though it’s a summer piece, I just loved how nicely it flows and I loved having this as the last project of the year. The composer is coming from a jazz background, so you clearly can hear some freshness in the piece! You can buy this beautiful song on sheet music, tabs and a very easy to read, compact tablet version where everything fits on just one page. I highly recommend learning it, it's such a pleasure to play!
My upcoming video will be about the proper thumb position for the fretting hand, I just wrote a scrypt a few days ago and I’ll record on Tuesday.
11 Exercises Booket
There’s NEARLY 400.000 VIEWS on my 11 exercises video on YouTube! So crazy!
That video inspired me to publish this little booklet including the exact same exercises in sheet music and tab form.
These tips and exercises are mostly very easy, so they fit to all level without a doubt! Some of them require a little bit more experience with the instrument. They will prepare your technique to the challenges you’ll meet with in an actual piece or song. I mostly recommend it for classical guitarists, however most of them fit perfectly for any other style too!
These are the actual exercises I do in my technique routine and I teach them to my students too.
You can watch my exercises for free any time, there’s no pressure to buy things, I just wanted to work on this to make it available for people who prefer to have the exercises printed out or on their tablet/laptop. And having YouTube open while you practice can be also distracting, right?
I’m planning to release more booklets this year, feel free to let me know what topics you are interested in!

Upcoming Podcast:
Last November I started working on an upcoming video podcast series, and it’s finally happening! On the show "Oh Sheet!” you can expect me talking to people like Alexandra Whittingham, Evan Taucher, Stephanie Jones, Iva Kosic, Brandon Acker and many more!
The first episode will launch next Monday, I can’t share a link just yet but I’ll keep you posted!
Life lately
I’m really grateful for having a good start this year. My number one goal is to put more time into my personal improvement as a musician and person, so I can be a better service for the ones following me and counting on me. Being a teacher taught me that I’m responsible for constantly improving myself and aim high, because the more I know and the more content I feel, the more value I can bring to other people’s life. I guess it’s similar to how relationships work, right? You only can be a good partner when you’re at peace with yourself. So this year, I already am doing a couple new and exciting things.
First of all, I’m trying to pull myself together and get back in shape again. Working from home and sittign all day, playing an instrument or editing videos got me lazy. I’m not a gym person, I get bored really quickly there, so I try to do fun and simple workouts here at home and go for walks as often as I can. It’s a start. I might try bouldering too later. 😀
And of course, I try to make some time to work on my paintings. I actually learnt a really interesting concept recently that works on all fields of art including music as well, but this newsletter is already quite long. I promise I’ll keep them shorter in the future.
In December I finally got a piano and a tiny midi keyboard, and now in January I found some time to improve myself in music theory a bit. I don’t want to learn to play songs on the piano, I mostly use it for improvisation and finding ideas and melodies for composing, which is honestly a bit easier for me on the piano than on the guitar. I might talk about why is this later. For now, I just wanted to say that I plan to start creating my own music this year. You can find some experimental stuff I made on my patreon page if you are interested!
Thanks for reading. Hope you enjoyed it! I’ll try to keep this a weekly thing, but until then, I go live on Twitch today at 2 pm CET and at the same time on Wednesday too. And keep an eye out for new posts on Intagram and YouTube!
See you soon! Hugs,
Beatrix
Hi Beatrix. When I see your work schedule I am close to loose my breath. But I know you try to take care of yourself. As I learn about this, your new idea, it seems like a good idea. Perhaps by gathering all your ongoing businesses in one place, you'll hopefully even save some time.
